M. Roy Schwarz has served on the faculty of a number of universities, including University of California, San Diego, University of Washington, and McGill University. Among his administrative accomplishments, he is the Founding Director of the WAMI (Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) Program at the University of Washington, which provides medical education to three states without medical schools. His research interests have spanned cellular immunology, nucleic acid metabolism, experimental medical education, and the use of communications satellites in education and health care. He is the author of over 150 articles, books, and abstracts. Schwarz served as President of the China Medical Board from 1997 to 2006.
